Implement PLLOB® in five steps

Due to the conception of PLLOB® and the possible applications, the introduction of PLLOB® is comparatively simple and fast. PLLOB® will ultimately spread throughout the organization “by itself”. PLLOB® is used as a nudge or situational memory in digital decision processes. Where decisions are discussed and made, it appears physically, again and again. Through appropriate framing and organization-developing measures we pave the way for PLLOB® and thus effective compliance, which becomes a good habit.
The following five steps are jointly tailored to the specific
needs of your organization. Before introducing PLLOB®, it is a good idea to use the PLLOB® diagnostic tool to investigate the 5 dimensions of PLLOB® in the organization. In this way, possible “blind spots” can be identified in order to have a stronger impact there, e.g. through training or special communication. The tool also accompanies us during the implementation of PLLOB® and provides important information on where we need to make adjustments. As we use the tool after the implementation of PLLOB®, changes can be identified. In this way PLLOB® will achieve its desired effect to the maximum. Together with our cooperation partner BIC, we can take an even broader and deeper look at the compliance culture of your organization using the Compliance Culture Scan®. The PLLOB® dimensions can also be embedded there.
The temporal sequence (sequence and duration) of the steps and their concrete design varies according to the maturity level and size of your organization.

Communication

We create a landing page to explain the background to PLLOB® on the company intranet. We describe e.g. how PLLOB® will help employees make decisions that are compliant and therefore useful in the short and long term. We encourage employees to consistently apply PLLOB® in the future, especially in dilemma situations. We tell employees who to contact if questions cannot be resolved using PLLOB®. Alternatively or additionally, this information is distributed via newsletters and / or company magazines. I support you in tailoring these texts.

Communicators

The PLLOB®-Communicators use PLLOB® as role models for decisions and encourage employees to do so. They are also the point of contact for employees who have questions about PLLOB®. In this way, PLLOB® is carried into the organization on a personal level and is increasingly becoming part of language usage. With workshops, we attune the PLLOB®-Communicators to their special role. The workshops also serve to jointly work out where and how we will use PLLOB® in a company-specific manner, and where we might have to expect resistance. If you have a compliance organization, its members will …

Digital

If you have digitized processes that are relevant to compliance, include PLLOB® as a release step and compliance gate in the process. Processes that are particularly suitable for this are e.g. Software design-, business partner review-, general approval processes. PLLOB® acts as a situational reminder of good compliance and reminds the employees of the desired attitude at the moment of the decision. Since the employee knows that PLLOB®  “awaits” her or him as a compliance gate in the process, PLLOB® is taken into account at the very beginning of the process. We provide you with the digital file formats of the PLLOB® – logo that you will use in the digital processes.

Physical

The PLLOB® beer mat/coaster and the PLLOB® webcam cover are examples of this use of PLLOB®. The beer mat/ coaster is ideal as a situational reminder and is placed in environments where employees can exchange ideas and discuss or make decisions. The canteen, coffee kitchens or – if available – smoking areas are often such places. Employees place the PLLOB® webcam cover on their laptops, where it e.g. acts as a situational reminder when writing emails and video conferences. We provide you with the digital file formats of the PLLOB® – logo that you will use here.

Management Situations

After all, PLLOB® should and will regularly come up in management situations and eventually become part of language usage. To promote this, you will include PLLOB® e.g. in forms for standard meeting minutes. You will ask management for their feedback on PLLOB®: To what extent does PLLOB® help executives to make decisions that are compliant more quickly? Where should be readjusted? You will conduct workshops with managers to make them even more familiar with the use of PLLOB®. We support you in this.

Communicators

The PLLOB®-Communicators use PLLOB® as role models for decisions and encourage employees to do so. They are also the point of contact for employees who have questions about PLLOB®. The workshops also serve to jointly work out where and how we will use PLLOB® in a company-specific manner, and where we might have to expect resistance. If you have a compliance organization, its members will be PLLOB®-Communicators. Ideally, managers can be recruited at an early stage who use PLLOB® as role models. This happens regularly because PLLOB® helps them to be agile in difficult decision-making situations and to take a resilient path. Their special importance as role models is also demonstrated by the first “L” in PLLOB® for “LEADERSHIP”.
